Sealant or Banding?
Hey all, I have watched a ton of videos and I think I have settled on the materials I am going to use. I have a couple of questions after watching 100% WATERPROOF --- Sealant Instead of Thinset 7 Day Test and the RSS installation videos. In the installation videos when using the RSS Pro pan and RSS wall board they only use sealant to seal the seams, do you recommend using membrane banding and corners if I am going to coat everything in hydroban? I am also building a custom niche and had the same question about the seam and corners. I am planning to get an RSS PRO pan and curb, Sentinel cement foam wall board, 2 coats of hydroban
Thank you in advance.

Pretty much. Yes. We do fabric in corners and seams, niche, curb, whatever. We go thru almost 2 rolls. The fabric works great to bridge larger gaps. Be careful of build up that may interfere with tile install.
Saves a few bucks on that expensive sealant. We don't trust sealant only systems. Just the way we are
