Shower Waterproofing

So I'm a firm believer in the bonded system but I'm asking for a friend who just had his shower and seat hot mopped. He is wondering how you brown or float the seat and curb with wire after it is hot mopped without compromising the tar waterproofing. Attached are general pictures for reference.
