Kerdi Membrane or Hydro Ban Liquid
Just set the shower base in mortar and installing PermaBase next. My questions are:
Which is easier, Kerdi membrane or a liquid waterproofing like Hydro Ban, since this is my first install.
Would you recommend one over the other given one of the walls is exterior? Or something else like Kerdi DS?
Older house (100+ yrs) in the mid-upper midwest with humid summers and cold winters.

Any thoughts or suggestions? At this point I’m planning to just go with Hydroban liquid waterproofing over Permabase. A little unsure just with the exterior walls, but that’s as good or better than what was there before I tore the old shower out, so I figure I should be okay. Thanks
