Guidance
Hey hey, everyone, looking for some guidance. This has a few parts to it so please bear with me. I’m putting in a shower in my basement. There was no bathroom or anything before. Plumbing has been roughed in. I was in a time crunch (thanks to my better half) so I hired guys for drywall, I went out of town when they worked. Came back and was pissed. I told them cement board for shower, they used green board. Green board already mudded, primed and painted the color of the bathroom. No way am I taking it all out. Should I put up cement board over it or would a coat of red guard suffice before I tile?
next question is the shower pan. It’s a custom sized shower so I’m going to make the pan. Seeing it’s the basement and a concrete slab do I need to do a pre-slope, liner, mortar bed? Or can I just do a liner then mortar bed?
thanks in advance to your answers to this and answer to my eventual follow up questions.
