Shower Waterproofing

I put in a dry pack mortar bed with a FloFX drain and Hydrobanned everything. It's not perfect perfect (it's my first time!), but it seems to function fine. I laid down some pebble tile and I'm about to lay the grout.

And then I start wondering... When showering, the water works it's way through the grout (right?) and hits the Hydroban, then what? Does it somehow find it's way through the thinset under the pebbles and then into the drain? I put thinset in the drain body to support the FloFX-drain-grate-shims and drain-grate-holder. Does the thinset around the drain grate block the water's path to the drain?? Or does the water just eventually evaporate back up through the grout over time?

Please help me understand how this works. If I have to redo something, that's ok. I want to make sure this lasts forever.
