Shower Waterproofing

Howdy do ladies and gents? 

 As an installer I loose sleep worrying about waterproofing showers and tub surrounds. ( And it's not for lack of  research.) The home builder I work for does mostly solid surface for his showers, and I do all  the other tile. Occasionally though a home owner wants tile :)

  My current project will be 5x36 plank ceramic Tile walls over a 32x60 acrylic shower base. Glass/stone mosaic accent band at the top. And perhaps a  60"x12" horizontal niche like the Bathroom Remodeling Teacher did in his tile redi video, ( some kind of niche, anyway). The GC wants to to use Dens shield for the walls. I will fabric my seams and corners and hydroban. And detail the wall/pan joint  with sealant per their instructions. Issac's got me sold on Tile redi but that is an upsale and the project starts in 2 wks. Perhaps I could use Go Board, since it's comparable in price?  ***How do you guys feel about  Dens shield? ***

So I'm wondering:

1)Dens shield or ???

2)Use sealant in all seams, but cleanly. What sealant, since GP does not recommend a specific sealant?

And I quote..("•fiberglass mesh tape–embed in a skim coat of material used to set tiles on all joints and corners that are to receive tile; caulk corners and edges prior to addition of fiberglass mesh tape. Seal penetrations and abutments to dissimilar materials.")

3)Is a liquid membrane applied fabric like nova flber enough for  corners and a custom niche, or should I use a thinset applied band like kerdi band or Go Board band or a mesh backerboard tape embedded in thinset per their instructions quoted above and liquid membrane over that?

4) What thinset? I was raised on Mapei, but don't see much chatter about them.

5) Nova fiber for screws Larry? 

6) What have I forgot to ask/clarify?
