Can TileRedi + RediWall be used in a steam shower (intermittent use)?
I’m planning a steam shower for casual residential use — roughly 15–20 minutes per session, a few times per week. I really like the idea of using the TileRedi base + RediWall system because of how straightforward and waterproof it is out of the box.
However, I haven’t seen any documentation from TileRedi confirming that their pan and wall panels are rated for steam/vapor pressure or meet the ASTM E96 ≤0.5 perms requirement for steam showers.
I know full sheet membrane systems like KERDI-DS and Hydro Ban Sheet are steam-rated, but they’re a bit more involved — I’d prefer the TileRedi approach if it’s reliable.
Has anyone actually used the TileRedi system in a steam shower (not just a regular shower)?
Any known issues with vapor containment, delamination, or seam failures over time?
Can RediWall + RediSealant alone create a code-compliant vapor envelope?
Appreciate any firsthand experience or insights — trying to balance ease of install with long-term reliability. Thanks!

Good to know. I think denshield with sheet membrane would be the way to go.
