Schluter linear drain fail video....

Issac please help! I just watched the live video you posted. This is my situation and then question. We have the plumbing already in and my husband has the wood down to meet with the joists for our seamless shower. Our next step was going to be putting down the floor and the schluter linear drain. After that we were going to hydro all the way up to the drain for extra protection. Our master bath is on a second floor.

Question. Should we take up the one piece of floor ...if possible to reach the plumbing and move to center and go with the Flo FX or just stick with the plan and hope the hydro will save us from the linear drain failures?

When its possibel I would just use flofx. But it depends. We just installed a Kerdi Line a few weeks ago but it was in a recessed slab. If there ever was a leak it would just leech into the concrete and dirt below the slab.

On a wood foundation its a whole other sotry. I might do it, but provide a disclaimer that I will not be held liable for a leak at the linear drain. All linear drains have issues. I would say maybe a compotite ABS linear and RSS pro series with sealant may be the best bet.
