Water relief for bottom LED channel...
From what I've seen, most LED installations happen at the top of the niche, for obvious reasons, water.
I have a niche with an LED strip on the top and the bottom, which at first glance looks great, but may cause a problem which I'm well aware of.
The strips that I'm using are IP67 rated, so they should be okay, but no matter what, currently, there's nowhere for the water that gets into the aluminum channel to go but left or right or up. It's basically a mini linear drain with no waste pipe.
It's also installed at this point, and I didn't think of this until now. Had I thought of it earlier, I would have drilled holes in the bottom and actually added nylon tubing behind the wall to the plumbing so any water could be released. In fact, I could still do that when I rip out the bathroom opposite this shower. But, it may be excessive, albeit really cool.
Another solution I thought of (and keep in mind, I may be overthinking the whole thing to begin with), would be to drill some sloped holes where the grout lines will fall (I haven't grouted yet) and feed some small stainless steel tubes into the led channel that would drain out the front of the shower wall below the niche trim.
Here's a crude model. Let me know if this is innovative or just plain dumb.

Ahhh…how visible is the strip? You could fill it with epoxy or clear silicone and no water will ever get in there…
or duct tape a hair dryer? 🤣
