Waterproofing DensShield joints

Hi folks,

I plan to use a Schluter pan and DensShield on the walls. I'm a little nervous about the butt joints between the DensShield, the point where the pan meets the wall, and the screw locations.

I plan to use Kerdi band where the wall board and pan meet ensuring at least a 2" overlap. Would it be wise to also apply kerdi band over the other joints and screw locations? Or maybe hit these other joints/screws with Hyrdoban or another liquid membrane?

Also, feel free to redirect me to another wall board solution if you don't have good things to say about DensShield. I'd prefer not to deal with cement board, and I don't want to spend big $$ on Kerdi board or other similar product. That said, I don't want to have future issues, so I'm willing to spend more money for these other wallboards if that will save me later down the road.

Thank you.
