Shower Waterproofing

A few observations and request for advice.

Question, trying to build a long lasting shower. I’ve gone through many of the threads on this shower forum and have come to a few conclusions. Tell if I’ve come to the right conclusions

Starting square and level is the key.

The best floor build for long lasting results is made from mud. But, a foam system is better for a novice who has never sloped a mud pan before. So a foam tray over self leveler is a adequate system.

What do the coaches here think of goof proof shower quick pitch system?

RSS is a slightly better waterproofing system over the Schluter system, but Schluter is still a good system (and much easier to find).

Linear drains while very nice looking can/will leak if not put in super absolutely perfect, the easiest drain to install right is a center of shower traditional round/square drain with ProFX being a top choice. (I so want linear).

A thin topical layer of Hydroban over all joint areas.

I agree with Ben- the Tile Redi set up is the best option for those who don't have a construction background. Check them out on the site. https://www.tilecoach.com/tileredi
