Never again...
As a newbie, I am doing Laticrete membrane on the shower floor and Durock walls and tub surround. Never again. Yes, I did choose this over the roll-on glop in order to have the BEST waterproofing but.....this takes waaaay too long to do well. Next time, maybe the other shower in the house, I will certainly just use the membrane (not Kerdi) on the floor (under dry pack) and roll on some goopy slop waterproofing for the walls. Hydroban seems best from what I've read. 2 coats, no problem. Look for pinholes....easy. I'd even do 3.
Waaaay too much time involved in applying a membrane to the walls. Many days......I'm not counting.
Just a statement post, no question for you.
