Will This Be a Problem? (Quick Question) Gap Between Tub Flange and Drywall
Hey all! This image shows drywall sitting on top of the integrated tub flange. The drywall extends past the flange and leaves a space between the two vertical surfaces (as shown with the plumb level and the flange). My quest is whether this gap is something to worry about.. I'm wondering if both surfaces should be perfectly plumb in order to apply Kerdi Band. Or is it okay and I should just wrap the band underneath the lower lip of the drywall and onto the flange?? Thank you for any insights and suggestions

This image below shows the surface without the drywall. I'm including this to show that I don't have the option of pushing the drywall further back to remove the flange.

It would probably be easier to fill the area in with thinset and let it dry, then apply the band and sealant to the tub
