so many questions about materials

For subfloor if I need to repair or replace: what thickness of plywood?


For base: foam or drypack? What brand is recommended?


For walls: sheetrock, cement board, foam board? what brand is recommended?


For waterproofing: sheet membrane, foam board from before, liquid membrane, combination? What brand?


Drain: any brands that are recommended or not recommended?


Thinset: I think I've heard Issac recommend the kerdi brand. is that still the case?


For heated floors: what do I need, and would I put it on top of the base, and then the waterproofing over it?


Faucets: any particular brands that are liked?


How do you transition from one tile to the next? Like from the shower area to the non shower area?


How do you transition from the tile in the bathroom to wood floors in the hallway?


What kind of mortar? My wife dyes her hair and is concerned about staining.


Thank you in advance. I went from looking for contractors to just saying I'll do it all myself. Well except for the tiling. I don't want to screw that up, but will try and do everything else.

So ditra over the dry pack, then membrane over that?


Tub manufacturer said I should be fine with it on a slope. Looking at maybe doing foam pan instead of dry pack.


Is hydro ban OK over sheet membrane and on the go board?
