Center Line Tile with Shower or Niche??
I'm going to be using 12 x 24 tile for shower walls. A couple of questions:
1- To begin my layout, should I center the first tile with the center-line of the shower Or
the center of the niche ( nitche is NOT centered in the shower) (see pics) Just wondering what way would look correct.
2- I see some videos of installers motoring the walls and also back buttering the the 12 x 24 tiles and using leveling clips and other videos just putting thinset on the walls and not using leveling clips. What is recommended for the beginner?

Clips can be very helpful, but you also need to take more care in keeping the joints clean as you go, or else the clips will be a pain to remove. Also, I would center on the wall, not the niche.
