Trouble floating a shower. VERY THIN

I’m building a curbless shower on slab. The existing slab is about the right slope as-is but it needs to be lifted just a bit, more in some areas. The problem is the layer of deck mud is so thin. On one edge I only need to lift about 1/8”. On the other side it is 3/4” at most. I mixed up some deck mud but I scraped it off after trying to work with it for a while. At some areas it was so thin when I got it to the proper level I could see through to the concrete. Wondering if I should just use thinset instead. Or something smooth and creamy that will lay down very thin.

Maybe I could use a self leveler. I already used it in another area and the instructions say it can be spread to a feather edge.

Or, because I will be using Ditra heat, maybe I could just use a thick layer of thinset between the concrete and the ditra sheet and basically level the sheet with a screed.

You can use any SLU primer, like LevelQuick primer and its sold in quarts I think. A lot cheaper than buying a whole gallon.
