Deck Mud vs Bedding Mortar
Greetings Issac!
I've been following along with your videos on YouTube and love the reverse engineering of why showers fail. I've made decisions based on your findings and I have to say, I'm getting really excited to get our shower finished. I've watched the "training wheels" Dry Pack Shower Pan video 1,001 times, however, I've hit a road block and was wondering if you or anyone else on here could provide some insight.
Is Deck Mud the same as a Bedding Mortar?
I live in the Chicagoland area and I'm unable to find Deck Mud - when I did a search in my area,Home Depot has what they call Custom Float Bedding Mortar - however, the directions say to use 3 gallons of water for 1 50lb bag and that seems like it would be too thin to be a dry pack. Should I just use your recommended amount of water 2.5-3qrts per bag? I've included a link to the product description from the manufacturer: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/2c/2c6a8c6c-b901-4b18-8284-309c9e5e8c18.pdf
Thank you again for all your insight and knowledge.... I wouldn't have attempted this without your videos!
