Schluter Profile Sizing Confusion

Saw at least one post on the forum that dealt with this question but the answer was fuzzy at best. So I'm gonna try asking it again. Tiles are 12x24 at 3/8" thick for the walls of the shower. Plan on using Schluter's Quadec and Jolly. Will be using a clip leveling system (Raimondi wedge clips).

Will be using 1/2" notched trowel.

Walls have been flattened pretty well.

So, which size of Schluter profile should I use? 3/8" seems likely too little for the mortar bed, but the 1/2" profile, when next to the tile, feels rather tall. 7/16" may be the Goldie Locks answer, but I don't want to order a bunch of profiles and find out I bought the wrong size.

And shouldn't Schluter have a pretty easy chart to determine this? They turn what seems like a simple decision into something rather difficult. Thanks, Roger

Hi Roger. I had the same scenario. The wall tiles were 12x24" and I applied the thinset using a 1/2" trowel as well. I used Schluter Jolly 1/2" profile and it was the correct choice. I mocked it up beforehand using a scrap of wall board just to be sure.
