Order of operations for tiling a niche?
Is there an ideal/proper order for tiling a niche? I'll be casing it with marble sill pieces (also using for shelf) and mosaic will be 1x3 herringbone. Wall tiles will end at the marble casing.

I would tile the walls first, making sure to get the tile to the edge of the niche level and plumb. Then install the marble pieces, then install the tile in the back.
