Hello. Need to replace my current ptrap which is 1-1/2 copper connected to 1-1/2 copper waste lines to a 2 inch p trap.

Would I remove the current ptrap segment and use a 1-1/2 copper to 1-1/2 pvc specialty coupling then use a reducer coupling to fit in my 2 inch pipe and trap I would do that on both sides?

My question is when connecting how do I get my pvc to sit flush with the stop inside the specialty coupling since its a straight connection and not using and elbows to where u usually twist the elbow to the side then twist back into place when u make your connection?

Any other ideas?
