Tile around toilet flange

Hello,

My toilet has a ring attached to pipe by the plumber. I can't seem to remove it even after I remove the screws. There is a wood shim between the ring and the floor. I wonder, when I tile, do I tile up to the red? Or do I have to tile up to the yellow line as indicated in the image? Because if I need to tile up to yellow line, that's going to be challenging because I need to remove that ring. The ditra ends at the red line. Just wanted to double check been thinking about this.

Thank you!

You're fine going up to the flange.

Most people put the flange on top of the tile. But flush with the tile is ok too. If the flange ends up lower than the tile they make a plastic extension ring you can add as well. Just put some shims under where you're going to screw that flange down
