Thinset Question
Floor n Decor recommended I use Mapei Ultraflex LHT SG as a general all-purpose thinset for larger format tiles. This is the thinset I've been using on everything to this point, but I want to make sure I'm not going down the wrong path.
The majority of the tiles going up are 12x24 ceramic tiles at 9mm thick. There's a pathway of mosaics that are going in as well, and I guess I have a few questions regarding the thinset choice:
Do I need a light colored thinset where I'm installing light colored tile and dark colored thinset where I'm installing the dark mosaics?
Aside from color, should I be using two different types of thinset, one for the 12x24's and one for the 12x12 mosaics?
Do I need to use a different size trowell for the mosaics vs. the 12x24's?

How did this thinset work for you? Due to availability, this looks like best choice for 12x24 porcelain wall/floor and mosaics since the Laticrete 253 Gold doesn't really confirm LFT. Thanks for posting.
