Another Thin-set question, how much, which one?
The tile I'm installing is 15x30 porcelain, floor only, light colored, with a light colored grout. In my shower, I used Mapei Ultraflex LHT SG, but it seems like overkill for the rest of the house. I have approximately 1,300 sq/ft of floor to tile.
Using the calculator on Floor n decor's site, for the Mapei Ultraflex LHT SG, I get 44 bags needed at a cost of $24.99/bag. The Laticrete White LHT is $12.44, while the Laticrete Gray LHT is $11.54.
The calculator for Laticrete White comes to 35 bags while the gray comes to 32 bags.
Obviously I don't want to spend 2X as much as I need to if the Laticrete will accomplish my goal.
I'm starting to not trust their bag calculator, unless there's something I need to learn about how each mixes. How could a 50lb bag of Mapei require so many more bags than the Laticrete?
If I'm going with a light colored grout, should I just stick to the Laticrete White LHT?

Laticrete always seems to be off with their coverages and ratios. Not sure whats up with that. But LHT is a great thinset for the money. I would use it.
