FloFX Drain Questions

If you've seen my previous posts you know I have 2 showers currently under construction with less than ideal waterproofing (mudbed without a preslope, screws thru the liner, etc). Contractor has agreed to pull the flooring in both showers and redo them. I currently have the Delta 4" drains installed. Since they are now installing a preslope per my request, I dont know if the current drains can be reused, so I was going to order new ones to have on hand. Then, enter FloFX option. I see where these are highly recommended and I like the idea of no screws on the grates, etc. My question is when I was watching an installation video it states no preslope is used. Now Im lost and confused as to what I should even be asking my contractor to do to suit my request that these showers be waterproofed appropriately. They are currently vinyl liner over wooden subflooring, packed mudbed, hardieboard walls painted with Mapelastic HPG membrane. Can anyone help me to understand and know what to ask for? If Ive asked them to tear out because I didnt have a preslope and now Im asking them to reinstall without a preslope, they might just kill me. I wouldnt blame them honestly. Thanks in advance!

Pre slope is needed under the liner. Because it directs the water to the drain. With the flow fx, it is a topical waterproofing system. You would slope the mud pan to the flow effects drain and then put the topical waterproofing on it. No pre-slope though
