Repost - Dealing with mis-measured Tile-Redi pan and drywall
I have a post below with this same photo and me musing over the solution. Not happy with the solution but maybe I'm overthinking how to fix this. The mismatch is on both sides with this one at 1/2" and the other around 3/8" so if I just glue on pieces of the wallboard I'll then have extra thickness of an 1/8" on one side.
I was wondering if I should just change the bullnose trim and replace it with a 90 down to the curb and transition to an L-bead the rest of the run and just tile up to it? Try to blend the 1/8" thickness into the 6" wide piece of drywall. It has a switch and door trim on it so I'm wondering how the added 1/8" will affect the upper section of that piece of drywall.
Additional advice is appreciated

How about 1/4" hardi on the wall return, and 1/4" hardibacker on the face of the curb to flush it out? Then tile the face of the return to the other corner.
