Tile Layout
Hello, I am getting ready to plan the tile layout, and I saw a post on home repair tutor that it's best to cut the first row of tile at the bottom since it's easier to scribe. I have 23in x 59 in tile and I figured it might be best to put the tile that I have to cut on top due to uneven ceiling. Now I am looking at it and I feel it might be best to do the narrow tile on the bottom since it looks better and I can make two rip cuts to fill the gap on the top and put the narrow tile at the bottom. Or omit the tile on top (keep 3 full sheets of tile, no ripcut) and screw green board over hardie backer and keep it a seamless transition between tile and the greenboard since the bathroom will be painted white. What do you think?
Also since the tile is large I am not sure how to scribe it, so it is cut flushed to the uneven ceiling? Should I make a cardboard border and transcribe it to the tile?
Thanks for your help, sorry for so many questions, hopefully this project will be done in the next two weeks.

I mean, how uneven is your ceiling? shoot a line parallel to the ceiling and find out. Simply measure one side and measure the other side...You may see that both measurements are the same and if they are not, transcribe what you find onto the tile you're going to cut. If I were you, I'd eliminate the top cut, as you speak of. If you want the cut on the bottom, shoot a line with your laser around the bottom of the floor...take a measurement on one side, take a measurement on the other side...transcribe it to your tile. Full tile on the top or the bottom of your layout doesn't always work out...sometimes you gotta cut top and bottom cuz things are so out of whack.
