Painted shower ceiling is growing mold. Best solution?
Tiled up to walls. Not sure what builder used for wallboard. Thinking: Treat with fungicide, (apply Killz primer?), then Schluter membrane, then... paint, skimcoat, or tile?
I'm thinking: Remove grout around edges for better waterproofing? Also, any tips on dealing with light fixture?

You use the term growing --- After the stains are addressed --- Check to see if your exhaust fan is vented to the exterior. Is the fan rated for minimum 1 cfm per square foot of bathroom floor area? Is the ceiling insulated?
