Crumbly deckmud surface

First post, but lurking for weeks.

I floated my shower pan yesterday and today the surface is crumbly with sand easily removed. Deckmud was not available in my area so I used Quikcrete Sand Topping with sand in a ratio of 60lb of Topping / 25lb of sand and also added some Sika Acrylic Fortifier with my water. It was not the easiest pan with drain close to walls and a long slope to a curbless entry so it took longer than anticipated to scree the 37x50" area.

Is it ok? Do I need to dig it out and try again or? Some sort of surface treatment before I put on my pan liner? With a light sweeping the underlying pour seems solid.

Pics show me raising the existing slab up 2" to meet hardwood floor. I used the formed shower cutout as a surface to skree from along with ledger boards on the wall sides.

Thanks

I wasn't happy with the end result and not confident I had no punctures in the FloFx membrane, in fact I knew I had a few from the damn pebbles in the sand mix that worked loose when I troweled thinset on. I gently hammered any other raised pebbles flat and picked up a roll of Schluter and thinset it in place over the messed up one. I needed more for my walls anyway. Feeling much more confident on my waterproofing now.

I had steel troweled my original mud bed along with covering it with plastic but my working time was just too long forming the slope and the mud got too dry.
