Plumbing concern under shower ?
Hello All! So I'm in the demo stage and noticed that the plumbing under shower is a little sketchy. Access is limited unless I remove a portion of the subfloor (and if needed I will)
Anyway I'm looking at a PVC drain pipe connection that's attached by a Fernco (rubber sleeve) to what looks like a galvanized pipes.
This gives me some pause because the drain pipe has a little play seeing as it's attached to the galvanized by the rubber joiner.
Should this be a major concern or would it be OK to connect to cut and use existing pvc pipe?

I'm not a licensed plumber, just learned a lot redoing plumbing at my last two houses the past couple years. But if you go with the Fernco no-hub coupling, use the one with the metal shielding. Their website says "the patented, bi-directional corrugation shield seals pressure in both parallel and transverse patterns on the gasket and pipe to provide a positive, reliable seal." as opposed to just the rubber one with 2 metal clamps.
