Transition from Hydroban to Drywall, surface prep?
So this first picture is my n00b venture. I've never done a shower before (chattering teeth.) I wasn't sure how far to extend backer board into the bathroom past where the glass will be, so I just gave it a guess and overlapped quite a bit. The 2nd picture is what it's supposed to look like after I tile it up. The ceiling is complete and I'm building the vanity cabinet and mirror before I begin destroying everything with my first tile install. I'm wondering about a few things. Is there any special treatment I need to apply to the new drywall before I slap some tiles on it, or should I re-assess and install backer board all the way from the hydroban coat to behind the vanity? Also, would it make sense to hang the floating vanity and mirror BEFORE or AFTER tiling?

@Dennis lol...yeah...it's an acceptable risk.
