Is gravel needed before adding concrete?
Hi there, we replaced p trap and moved drain and now are ready to fill in. We have filled in so far with the dirt we removed however should we add some gravel before we cover with concrete?
Also we are planning to install a flo fx drain; do we need to protect or leave a gap around the riser/drain pipe? Would it be okay if we did? Just in case we need to nudge the pipe to be plumb?

best practice is to use gravel as a "capillary break" so water doenst seep into the concrete from below. I recommend wrapping the pipe foam wrap where it is in the concrete, but probably not that important with an old slab because it probably isn't moving any more.
