Dry Pack Crumbling
I am installing a curbless shower in my house. It is on a cement slab and the Dry Pack is 1 inch thick. I used Quikrete Deck Mud Concrete Mix from Lowe's. After 24 hours, I vacuumed up any loose material and a lot of material came up, creating rough areas and divots. I think I made the deck mud too dry or took too long working with it. I am going to use Laticrete Hydro Ban sheet membrane on the shower pan so I need a smooth surface. Should I remove the deck mud and start over or can I put a thin layer of thinset on the deck to fill in the divots and help bind everything together? If I have to start over, what dry pack do you recommend?
