Subfloor leveling options
I have 2x12 dimensional joists at 16 oc with 3/4 plywood plus 1/2 inch Durock currently covered in linoleum was originally prepped for tile about 30 years ago but linoleum was put in to save some $. I am looking to remove linoleum and replace with tile in mud room, hallway, bath. In the hallway/mud room there are low spots that basically follow the joist pattern with dips max of 1/2 an inch. The bathroom and laundry which are right off the hallway are less pronounced. The bathroom will be tile over ditra heat and plan to use ditra in hallway, mudroom and laundry. What are the suggested options for flattening/leveling (thinset, Henry/Ardex Feather Finish, self-leveler)...seems like something to just trowel into low spots would be straight forward? I saw on Schluter site, thinset should never be used to level floor. Appreciate your thoughts and thanks for all the help.

Thank You!
