Horizontal Drain Options?

I am replacing an old tub in a loft (3rd floor of a converted 1842 mill building) that requires a horizontal drain as the p-trap cannot be relocated and the concrete slab cannot be chipped out under the shower pan. The only options i see are Wedi and Schluter. The Wedi option is neither approved nor available in the US so that leaves Schluter's Kerdi horizontal drain (using a 3" foam compensation board or building a platform). Building a platform and using a standard straight drain with a 2" elbow requires too large of a step over. Any other solutions other than Schluter? Any other ways to solve this issue? (Note: the existing 1-1/2 inch drain and p-trap will be resized to 2" per code.)
Second question, it seems on TileCoach's videos about the failed Schluter drain fabric are on ABS. Are similar failures occuring on PVC drain bodies?
Thanks

If anything I would do Hydro Ban over the whole thing, not another sheet membrane.
