Gap size between mixing valve cover and kerdi board
My plumber put the shower mixing valve too far forward as you can see in the image below.

I moved the valve back 3/4" by replacing the 2x4 it was screwed to with a 1x4. The cover plate is now 1/2" above the kerdi board before kerdi band, thinset, and wall tile are added. Is there a standard gap to leave? Do you think 1/2" is an appropriate amount to compensate for the thickness of tile, thinset, etc? I'm planning on using 3/8" thick tile.

Looks good Paul. Yes there is usually about a range of about 1” of play in the valve setbacks,.
