Advice on Waterproofing Techniques Around Doorframe for Bathroom Remodel
I'm in the middle of a bathroom remodel and have decided to utilize Ditra as the underlayment for the floor tiles. For the transition between the floor and wall tiles at the perimeter, I'm considering using the Kerdi band. However, I'm a bit uncertain about the best approach to ensure proper waterproofing around the doorframe.
Would it be sufficient to terminate the Kerdi band at the vertical edge of the door jamb molding, or is it necessary to remove the doorframe entirely to achieve a seamless waterproof barrier? Additionally, for the perimeter expansion joint, I'm contemplating the use of Bekotec-BRS.
I would greatly appreciate any insights, recommendations, or experiences you might share regarding these aspects. Your helpful comments are welcome and much needed!

So I can skip the Bekotec. Should I also skip the Kerdi band from the floor to the wall?
