How to level my bathroom floor
I am remodeling my bathroom with a
shower and a freestanding tub. It drops
3/4" from my doorway to my vanity. I have never installed a freestanding tub but I assume the floor has to be perfectly level.
Should I use self leveling then strata mat
over that, then tile? Seems like that
would add a lot of weight. The bathroom is on the second floor. love the videos!

I would first figure out how uneven the floor is, not just how much it has dropped, so you can determine whether or not it's a gradual slope, or just a collection of low and high spots. Plot out the floor heights. Fire a laser from a fixed point in the room all around, then use a broomstick or some other straight stick (maybe a level) to plot out the floor in a 12x12 or 15x15" grid. Start right next to the laser and measure the height of the laser from the floor, then move to each point on your grid. If your laser line is 4' above the floor, and your first point is 4' 1/4", then write a +1/4" on the floor. Once you're done, you'll know your highest and lowest points and you'll be able to tackle the leveling problem with more information.
