Hydronic heated floor - Which Underlayment

Hi:

I am tiling a bathtub room that also has a sink in it...but no TOILET.

I have 3/4" AdvanTech subfloors installed over 12" OC floor joists...with hydronic radiant floor heating stapled on the underside of the subfloor.

I am looking to install 2'x2' - 3/8" thick porcelain tile.

I don't want to use backer board for fear of puncturing a heating waterline under subfloor. But not sure which uncoupling membrane I should use.

If you suggest Strata Mat should I waterproof the subfloor first?

If you suggest Ditra how does the integrated air pockets affect heat transfer to the tile?

So, which best for my application and minimizes tile assembly thickness to reduce transitions to lower surface coverings?

My gut tells me to go with Strata Mat. But my head is saying that Ditra is waterproof and may have other benefits I am not considering.

Thanks,

Jillian
