DITRA Heat Peel & stick with LFT - Any Best Practices
I'm installing large format tile (8x32) over Ditra Heat Peel & Stick.
Some Project Details...
183sqft bathroom
3/4" subfloor with new 1/4" plywood underlayment
Providence Bianco Wood Plank Porcelain Tile | Floor and Decor
Few question...
I was planning to use "Mapei Ultraflex LFT White - Large Format Tile Mortar | Floor and Decor" , however, I read a post that recommended "Schulter ALL- Set". Should I be using All-Set instead?
Any recommendations on Tile Leveling system and grout line size? (Tile manufacture recommends 1/8, 3/16, 3/8, or 1/4)
Has anyone used Ditra Heat Peel & stick and if so any best practices?

Hi Ken- The Mapei thinset is fine to use, but ALL-SET is what we typically use on Ditra Heat. If you can get it, and afford it, its probably a better thinset to use.
If you are using leveling clips with a pressed edge tile, I feel like a 1/16" spacer is the way to go. It adds about 1/32"-1/16" on the tiles since the edge is slightly beveled and clips just tend to spread the joint a little more than the actual spacer. 1/16" usually ends up looking like an 1/8" which I think looks best.
I have not used the peel and stick. Best practice is going to be lay it out really well, snap lines, etc. because from what I've heard it does not come up after you put it down. Peel and stick is a great idea but it may make it more difficult in the end. It's probably the way to go for those of you who haven't troweled a lot of thinset but for those who have, thinset is probably easier. You get to skip the step of the primer too.
