Tile baseboard method question...

After about a year and a half and numerous other projects including a master closet remodel that earned me the privilege of no longer being questioned when I say I need a tool. 😂

Okay so you can kind of see in the picture that I did a built-in across from the shower I tiled. This is a stupidly large bathroom basement that no one ever used so I took the time to gut it mostly down to the studs.

So I am getting close to painting and thinking about the floor and finishing it up. (I cleverly did a built in vanity as well to shrink the floor)

I plan to minic the shower layout with the same tile and top with the same edge (I already mitered the one on the edge of the shower in anticipation)

What I am thinking is to remove the drywall and replace it with the Kerdi board seen in the picture - it's 5/8's drywall skinned with 1/4" drywall so the thickness from the studs to the surface is actually very similar and I will be able to get the kerdi board flush with the drywall.

Does that make sense? Basically taking those long tiles in the shower and cutting roughly 5-in pieces - it would be the exact same height as the tile on the back of the curb so around that room with the shower there would be that tile "baseboard"

Current plan is to put LVPN for floor which can be seen in the closet photo which is a thinly veiled flex because I'm really proud of it. Took me 99 days and about $990 in materials and was practice so I can learn how to build cabinets for the basement bathroom.

For sure! I am a primer zealot. I think I am going to put the hardibacker or kerdi board though because I have it and none of it is anything more than strips.

Thanks for the comment! I usually use Benjamin More 046 Fresh Start on everything. I will eventually mask off the shower and spray EVERYTHING with primer. 😂
