Design Help Basement low ceiling
First time doing a tile shower, but eperienced with tile in general, LVT and general construction. We are designing a basement shower for our daughter and have some design challenges. We will need to use a macerating pump for all waste water. The cement floor to ceiling is 78", so by the time we build the 2x6 base with 3/4" plywood and RSS pro base, we are really short on the head room space. My husband is hesitant to cut into the concrete to have an extra 2 inches for the P-trap thereby allowing for a 2x4 base frame.
Anyone have experience with cutting into the concrete floor? he is afraid we may create weakness that could lead to cracks that affect the foundation. Any work arounds or ways to install the p trap somewhere other than directly under the drain?
also, the usual size of a curb is 4" but that creates a big step up/over to get into the shower. Anyu experience with a 2"? Thanks

hey Isaac, the zoom recording didn't come through along with the RSS order list. :( any chance you can send those please? thanks
