The more I learn the less I know - newbie starting out - Alino brand?

Doing a shower where there was a tub so I have issues to deal with like putting in 2" drain in place of 1.5". But that's another story. There was a jacuzzi tub shower odd size. So stud to stud I'm 71.125" long/wide and going to go around 34" deep. Like I said learned a lot.

Plan on doing an Alino (yeah canadian company apparently - but Schluter doesn't make anything in the size I need with an off-center linear drain and Redi is pretty pricey for a custom at that size and 4-6 weeks to get it, which I can't wait on) so I ordered the Alino kit from Home Depot. The Alino kit is NOT pre-cut for the 24" drain. I plan to take more length off the short side to bring it around 11" from the wall on the shower head side.

Comes with a membrane, corners, etc. and I ordered a curb and some extra corners. The membrane looks similar to the Flo FX stuff, though if I had known I would have ordered that and just gotten the base and drain for the Alino kit.

Curious if anyone has any anecdotal on the Alino, good comparable product to Schluter? Etc. Not much online about it. Just a 2-3 videos from actual users.

Didn't know until some of Isaac's videos about some extra steps.

  1. Do I need to add membrane on top of their membrane?

  2. Do I need to Hydropan after I put in the membrane and if so is that just the base and bottom or all the way up the walls?

  3. Sounds like All-Set for the membrane and maybe Customs Pro-Lite for the 12x24 wall tile? Same Pro-Lite for 2" hex sheets on the floor?

First timer here. So I'll take any advice coming my way.
