Replace sub floor before retiling bathroom floor?
We are replacing the bathroom tile floor tile as part of our remodel. Do i need to replace the subfloor before laying the uncoupling membrane? Previous floor had 1/4" backer board attached to the subfloor using thinset and nails.

Thanks for the advice. I will check on renting a tool and grinding it then.
