This is actually two questions. I'm pretty slow when it comes to laying tile which presents an issue for me on my latest project. I'm doing a tub surround with metal trim on the outer edge of the tile walls. I was originally going to tile the back wall first. This would allow me to do the smaller, side walls independently, giving me plenty of time to set the metal edge and complete the whole section in one session. Then I saw somewhere that you want to do all three of your walls at the same time, working your way up a row at a time. Not one wall at a time. If I do it like this though, I don't know how I will set the metal edge? I'm not fast enought to do all three walls in one session. So my two questions are: Can I install the metal edge after I lay the tile by leaving the last inch free of thinset? and if not, can I do one wall at a time?
