I have a customer who dislikes his river rock shower floor. It appears to be very solid with no visible deterioration or water damage. I did not have a level with me so not sure if there is proper slope for drainage. Can I raise the drain and set tile over this existing shower pan and what would be the best material to level and prep that surface? I was thinking I might need to set new deck mud bed but others have indicated to just use thin set. There is a curb so elevating the floor should not be an issue. Your thoughts are appreciated.
