Sheetrock and Backerboard

I am at the stage of my bathroom remodel where it's time to start attaching the sheetrock and backerboard. I am using HardieBacker Board on the walls around the tub/shower and am using Green Board for the rest of the bathroom walls. My question is, where do I join them together? I've attached a picture. Should I meet them at the edge of the tub, or extend the BackerBoard past the tub and meet at the next stud?

I would probably add another stud mounted sideways in between the two studs outside of the shower to be a nailer for the drywall and backerboard. I like to have the backerboard extend approximately 2" past the outside of the tub when possible. This area sees a lot of water damage especially if there is not a shower door. Make sure to caulk the backerboard to the tub on the vertical leg as well.
