Shower valve on opposite wall from shower head
Turning the shower/tub into a tiled walk-in shower. There will be a curb and glass wall covering half of the shower, no door. Just open entry way. It would be nice to have the shower valve on the opposite wall so we can turn the water on without getting wet. How can I run the water lines? I have read not to run them along an exterior wall. I have also read not to run them in the attic. It is a ranch house and the bathroom is on the main level. The water heater is down below in the basement. The hot and cold water lines are setup as shown on the diagram. I would essentially have to run the hot/cold lines to the other side of the room to connect to the shower valves, then run two lines back over to the shower head and hand-held sprayer. Beneath this bathroom is a basement bathroom with a drop-ceiling. Any help would be much appreciated on how to do this. Thank you.

I solved this problem by installing Moen U electronic valves. The valves are actually in the utility room opposite the shower head, and the control is on the back of the shower facing the shower head. It was a significant upgrade (this DIY I.T. guy is annoyed by how simple the Moen U valves are relative to their price) but totally worth it. The valves are really cool, and the only thing I had to run to the back of the shower was a cable that contains 4 very small (22-24ga) conductors so I could connect the controller to the main valve.
