Durock and/or ditra

I am removing linoleum and replacing with tile. The subfloor is 3/4 inch plywood with 1/2 inch Durock. The bathroom will have ditra heat and is connected to hallway, entryway and laundry room. The hallway connects to room with wood floor and is currently about level in transition so added height so transition would be 8.5mm plus ditra and connecting bathroom will have ditra heat.

  1. Should I remove the Durock and just use ditra Over plywood or leave cement board and put ditra over it or skip ditra all together and just

  2. What prep needs to be done to remove any adhesive remaining on cement board

  3. What is the highest transition allowed

Thanks, in advance

Interesting they used durock under the linoleum.

You will probably need to remove the durock.

If the plywood is in good shape, just use Ditra over the plywood.
