Floor underlayment?

Remodeling the bathroom. The original floor, was 12 x 12 tiles on ¼ plywood (non OSB) on top of the subfloor. The subfloor is ¾ plywood (OSB). Surprisingly, no cracks in tiles or grout anywhere on the floor and the house is 15 years old.

Additionally, the old tile floor was flush with the hardwood floor in the hallway.

What would be the best option for 12 x 24 inch tiles? The room is a 10’ x 10’.

The house is located in the northeast, so wide range of temperature fluctuations.

Option 1: Go with the original method - 1/4 plywood over the subfloor to put the tile on

Option 2: ¼ plywood on over subfloor, then Schluter Ditra underlayment.

Option 3: ?

Thank you
