Bathroom Floor water resistance and soundproofing
I have new a new addition to my house which includes a large master bath upstairs and directly below that is a living/family room. I would like to install 12x24 ceramic tile floor in the bathroom, but considering we have a living room below, i am wondering if there is better way to get both sound proofing and some water resistance at the same time. So far, I haven't seen any system that will allow for both. I love the idea of using Ditra with Kerdi band for water proofing. But then I can't use a thin set such as 125 TriMax, which provides good sound proofing to set the tile as it is a rubberized product that will not mechanically hold well to the Ditra. Any advice here? can I really have best of both worlds? Or does Ditra do enough to reduce some noise from heavy footed walkers?

You can use Ditra Heat Duo. You have the option to use heat cables or not. But it will at least add soundproofing.
